What We’re About

Upon adoption, filmmaker Elizabeth Jacobs was the only baby out of her fellow adoptees to not receive a single piece of information about her family background. Now, twenty one years later, she returns to Cambodia for the first time since childhood in order to uncover the truth about her adoption, as she is determined to find out why, and why her.

Our Mission

In the upcoming documentary feature, The Stolen Children, director Elizabeth Jacobs revisits documents and photos back from her early life in regards to her adoption. Noticing inconsistencies that raised new questions about her past, she decides to finally return to Cambodia in hopes of reconnecting with her Cambodian identity, discovering her original culture, and understanding what her life could have been before she was Americanized.

Our production needs your help! In January of 2022, we will be taking eight student filmmakers overseas for three weeks in order to shed light on the country of Cambodia, once plagued by the Lauren Galindo scandal. To join in on our journey, visit our blog.

Our SECOND crowdfunding campaign is launched so head to our page on GoFundMe. Share our website and social media sites to help us out!
